Terms of Use
Reading Diary — Bookich · Last updated 14 October 2026
Summary. Your diary is yours and is kept on your own device.
Book recommendations are written by an artificial intelligence. They can be wrong, the opinions in them are not ours, and what to read is always your decision.
Free recommendations are limited, and the limit may change.
A subscription can be cancelled at any time, and within 14 days of purchase with a full refund.
1. About these terms
These terms govern the use of the Android application Reading Diary — Bookich (“the app”), published on Google Play under the developer name Diuna Labs. The app is provided by its developer, a private individual resident in Poland (“we”), who can be reached at [email protected].
By using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
The app is not intended for persons under the age of 16.
How the app handles personal data is described separately, in the Privacy Policy.
2. What the app provides
The app is a reading diary kept on your device: you can log books, rate them, write notes, keep a list of books you want to read, see statistics, set reminders, and export or import the diary. These features work without an internet connection.
One feature, Recommendations, sends your request over the internet to suggest books for you to read next, as described in sections 3 to 5.
3. Recommendations are written by an artificial intelligence
- Every recommendation, including the texts on its card, is generated automatically by an artificial intelligence model (Google Gemini) from your diary and your request. We do not review recommendations before they are shown to you.
- Recommendations may be inaccurate or incomplete. Facts about a book or its author, the number of pages or the year of publication may be wrong, and a suggested book may occasionally not exist.
- Opinions about books in a recommendation are text produced by the model. They are not our opinions.
- A recommendation is a suggestion of what to read and nothing more. It is not medical, psychological, legal or any other professional advice. Whether to read a suggested book, and whether it suits you, is your decision.
- If a recommendation seems offensive or inappropriate, you can report it with the flag button on its card.
4. Free recommendations and availability
- The number of free recommendation requests is limited. The current limit is shown in the app and may change at any time. The requests included in a subscription are covered by section 5.
- Recommendations require an internet connection, a copy of the app installed from Google Play, and a phone that passes Google Play's integrity check.
- We do not guarantee that Recommendations will always be available. The feature may be unavailable when a daily limit has been reached, when a service it relies on is down, or during maintenance, and we may change or discontinue it. If it is discontinued, subscribers receive a refund for the unused part of the period already paid.
5. Subscription
Where the app offers a paid subscription, the following applies:
- A subscription gives more recommendation requests than the free allowance. What it includes and its price are shown in the app and in Google Play before purchase.
- The subscription is bought and paid for through Google Play and renews automatically for the same period until cancelled. You can cancel it at any time in Google Play; access continues until the end of the period already paid.
- Within 14 days of purchase you can cancel the subscription and receive a full refund: request it in Google Play, or write to us at the address in section 1 with the order number from the Google Play receipt.
- The number of recommendation requests included in a subscription is not reduced during a period you have already paid for.
- Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
To withdraw within the 14 days you may use the model form below, but you do not have to: a refund request in Google Play, or any clear statement sent to us, is enough.
Model withdrawal form

- I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/We (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract for the provision of the following service: the Bookich subscription
- Ordered on

(*) Delete as appropriate.
6. Fair use
When using the app, you agree not to:
- attempt to get around the limits on recommendations or the checks that protect them;
- send requests to our server other than through the app, or send them automatically;
- use Recommendations to obtain content that has nothing to do with books, or content that is unlawful, abusive or harmful.
We may refuse requests that break these rules. If the rules are broken seriously or repeatedly, we may restrict or end your access to Recommendations. The diary and the other features that work without an internet connection are not affected.
7. Your diary
- Everything you enter in the app remains yours. We claim no rights to it.
- Your diary is stored only on your device. We have no copy of it and cannot restore it, so export it regularly.
- You are responsible for what you write in the app and for what you choose to send when you request recommendations.
8. Liability
The free features of the app are provided as they are and may contain errors.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — in particular liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or under product liability law — and nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Within those limits, we are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of a recommendation, for the loss of data kept on your device, or for services operated by others that the app connects to or that you choose to use alongside it, such as Google Play, Google Gemini, Open Library, or an AI chat service you use to import a reading list.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the app gains new features. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. A change that materially affects you will be announced in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you have a subscription and do not accept the change, you can cancel it before the change takes effect and receive a refund for the unused part of the period already paid: write to us at the address in section 1. If you continue to use the app after the change takes effect, the updated terms apply.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Poland. If you are a consumer living in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
